The Best Kitchen Scale: Escali

Earlier this summer, I spent a week in Provincetown at my friend Oliver's with Andy and Bill.  I'm usually the top chef in the kitchen when I'm a houseguest, and it's a rare but welcome treat to challenged for dominance of the oven, so I was happy to hand the reins over to Andy, who made home made bagels, among other things.  As an accomplished baker and product geek, I was happy to get a few of his recommendations to pass on at BKB.  The Escali Primo Digital Multifunctional Scale is most notable because it measures down to 1 gram.  Most kitchen scales measure down to 5-grams, which leaves a little too much margin of error for the science of baking.  Buy it for $25 at Amazon.com
