The Best Sources for Cellphone Ringtones: Myxer and Thumbplay

Myxer
I wrote last week about my new LG Decoy cellphone, and since then,  downloaded a bunch of ringtones and sounds.  I found two really great sources. Thumbplay.com gives you 10 ringtone or sound downloads per month for just $9.99.  And you get a bonus 10 for signing up (plus I got another 4 bonus tones for providing my email address during registration.)  Now, if you’re like me and don’t need to change your ringtones monthly, go ahead and cancel after you’ve downloaded your initial cache.  They’re yours to keep and use.  They have a really great selection of ringtones and sounds, plus games, videos and wallpaper.   I LOVE the airplane overflight sound I chose for my txt msg alert, and the Morse code for my voicemail alert.

Now, if you’re too cheap to pay for ringtones at all, or want to make your own ringtones, check out myxer.com.  They offer lots of ringtones for free, and the ability to upload any mp3 file from your computer, choose the sample section you want to use for your ringtone, and upload it to your phone for free (standard messaging rates apply).
